CVE-2009-3767: Apple Mac OS X
Medium severity, CVSS 4.3. EPSS: 3.3% chance of exploitation in the next 30 days.
libraries/libldap/tls_o.c in OpenLDAP 2.2 and 2.4, and possibly other versions, when OpenSSL is used, does not properly handle a '\0' character in a domain name in the subject's Common Name (CN) field of an X.509 certificate, which allows man-in-the-middle attackers to spoof arbitrary SSL servers via a crafted certificate issued by a legitimate Certification Authority, a related issue to CVE-2009-2408.
Affected products
- Apple Mac OS X: before 10.6.2 (fixed in 10.6.2)
- Fedoraproject Fedora: version 11 only
- Openldap Openldap: before 2.4.18 (fixed in 2.4.18)
